Our Community

Join our Community To Stay Connected

We believe that true cultural transformation doesn’t happen in isolation; it thrives within a living ecosystem of shared intention, mutual care, and reciprocity. Our community is emergent where we gather and is currently woven across three distinct landscapes to support you wherever you are: our land-based sanctuary at The Eco Retreat in Boonah, our urban studio at the Melbourne Insight Meditation Circle in Glen Iris, and our vibrant online WhatsApp community network. Together, these spaces form a growing network of makers, growers, and seekers, grounded in a shared purpose for cultivating mindfulness, creativity, spiritual practice, and nature-based living and leadership —ensuring a warm, supportive connection whether we are meeting under the trees, in the city, or across digital borders.

Community Gathering

The Whatsapp Online Community

At The Eco Retreat, we cultivate a grounded, spirit-led connection dedicated to the intersection of nature, deep presence, culture making and intentional action. Whether connecting through our online network or joining us in person across Melbourne and the Surf Coast.

Our Whatsapp community functions as a collaborative network of like-minded locals, a intersectional space where nature-based thought leadership, creativity, curiosity and spirituality can connect and share in shaping a more resonant culture in harmony with the web of life.

Melbourne Insight Meditation Circle

As an urban extension of our land project, we host the Melbourne Insight Meditation Circle at our Glen Iris studio. Established in early 2026 out of the Insight Meditation Institute’s Dharma Teacher Training, this invite-only monthly sangha brings together dedicated practitioners to deepen their mindfulness meditation and vipassana practice through collective silence, shared vegetarian meals, and deep Dharma inquiry. Centered around the practice of Kalyana-mittata (spiritual friendship), the circle offers a supportive, mature container for those with an established retreat background to nurture their path, serving as a vital city hub that keeps our community deeply connected between visits to the farm. Find out more at marionmiller.com.au

About Our Community

Honouring Our Roots

We stand on the foundations laid by those who came before us. We offer our deep respect to the Indigenous ancestors of the Kulin nations, and honour our own personal lineages. Our practice is enriched by the wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings, alongside the diverse Western philosophical and Celtic earth-based spiritual traditions that have guided us to this moment. We are building a vibrant, diverse community on Wurundjeri Country (Melbourne) and Gadubanud Country (Surf Coast), rooted in the generous exchange of wisdom, skills, and mutual support.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Wadawurrung people, with the Gulidjan and Gadubanud of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Custodians of the lands, who have strived to retain their identity and cultures through more than two hundred years of dispossession and colonisation. While living, working, practicing and learning with these beautiful lands and waters we are committed to recognising how these lands were never ceded.
