Boonah Farm

Across 70 acres, the Boonah farm is a rich, fertile land for exploring organic farming, forest farming and regenerative land management, nestled in the wild Otways Ranges in Victoria. We are inspired by the historical practice of small scale organic farming and providing a local food source and building community. We are currently researching, testing and building soil health, starting compost and cover crops, and planning infrastructure.

We have planted out a small orchard, working on the organic vegetable garden, a mandala herb and bush tucker garden and researching food forestry with the view of planting out the paddocks. We are deeply inspired by the holistic use of plants for medicine, food, materials, beauty and supporting local ecology.

 

High in the hinterland of the Surf Coast, our farm in Boonah sits at the intersection of forest and sea. ​We are working with the region’s unique high-rainfall to build a 'living' topsoil, rich in the organic matter that only this cool-climate can provide.

Working with nature we are balancing the existing acidic conditions and working toward a healthy land stewardship through adding in nutrient and growing productive crops that adhere to organic farming standards in Australia.

 

We hope our produce carries the vitality and strength of the Otway ranges.​
